  • Lemon water spray
    Lemon is a great ingredient to help fight ticks and sprays naturally. You can squeeze the juice of one lemon into a sprayer and dilute it with water. Spray this all over the body of your dog once every day. This home remedy will not only help to get rid of fleas and ticks but will also keep your dog smelling fresh.
  • Neem oil
    Neem oil can be used as an excellent home remedy to get rid of fleas and ticks in dogs. In fact, many of the commercial natural flea and tick remover sprays and shampoos come with the extracts of neem oil. You can dilute the oil with a carrier base such as coconut oil and apply it directly to your dog’s coat. The oil can also be mixed with regular dog shampoos too.
  • Apple cider vinegar (ACV)
    This is another wonderful product to kill ticks and fleas. Dilute 1 part of ACV in 10 parts of water and use it to in the final rinse when bathing your dog. Do not wash off the ACV mix. The acidic properties of ACV will help kill fleas and ticks naturally.
  • Dishwashing liquid
    This is one of the smart and effective home remedies to get rid of fleas and ticks in dogs. Place a bowl with a mixture of warm water and dishwashing soap next to your dog when he/she is lying down for a nap. The dishwashing liquid acts like a magnet and will instantly attract the fleas and ticks from the pet’s body.
  • Rosemary
    This essential oil works wonders in getting rid of fleas and ticks. Apply tiny dots of rosemary oil on your dog’s collar and also on the bed, crate, and other furniture that your dog uses regularly. The strong smell of rosemary will repel ticks and fleas.
  • Peppermint oil
    This works exactly the same way as rosemary oil and is an effective home remedy to get rid of fleas and ticks in dogs.
  • Baking soda
    To prevent the further manifestation of ticks and fleas, spread baking soda on your carpets and on the bedding of your pet and let the soda kill these parasites and their eggs. You can then wash the upholstery and bedding before using them.
